First, synthesis line of Tetrabutylammonium hydroxide CAS NO.2052-49-5  as follows

 

Dissolve 40 grams of tetra-n-butyl iodide in 90 milliliters of absolute methanol, add 20 grams of finely powdered pure silver oxide, seal and vigorously shake for 1 hour. Take a few milliliters of the mixture and centrifuge to check for the presence of I -. If it is a positive test, add 2 grams of silver oxide and shake for 30 minutes. If it is a negative test, filter the mixture through a fine sand core funnel, rinse the reaction bottle and funnel with 3 portions of 50ml dry bath benzene, and add the washing solution to the filtrate. Blow pure nitrogen for 5 minutes during storage to prevent absorption of water vapor and carbon dioxide.

Ethanol can be used instead of methanol in the above reaction, but tetra-n-butyl iodide is more stable in methanol.
