Synthesis route in the lab

Add 30mL of glacial acetic acid, 93g (0.5mol) of 1,2-dibromoethane, 98g (1.0mol) of freshly calcined potassium acetate, and 1.5g of pyridine to a reaction flask equipped with a stirrer and reflux condenser. Stir and heat for reflux for 3 hours. Change to a distillation device and evaporate the volatile part until the distillation is complete. Add 2mL of glacial acetic acid, 93g (0.5mol) of 1,2-dibromoethane, 98g (1.0mol) of freshly calcined potassium acetate, and 1.5g of pyridine to the distillate, then stir and heat for reflux for 3 hours. Change to a distillation device for distillation, collecting various fractions as follows: fractions before 140 ; Distillate at 140~170 (30~39g);Distillate at 170~190 (70~78g). Redistille the fractions from 140 to 170 and collect (10-16g) from 170 to 190 . Combine the fractions from 170 to 190 for distillation, collect the fractions from 180 to 190 , and obtain 80-90g of ethylene glycol diacetate,collecting 55% to 61%.
