The chemical is very special,so we want to show some synthesis lines to produce  2-Hydroxybenzaldehyde as follows

1. Mix phenol and excess sodium hydroxide to form a sodium phenolic solution, heat to 60-65 ℃, slowly add chloroform, and the reaction initially turns purple, gradually turning orange red. After the reaction is completed, the excess chloroform is evaporated with water vapor. The generated sodium salicylaldehyde salt is neutralized with acid, and then evaporated with water vapor to produce salicylaldehyde.

2. Salicylide method, which involves the oxidation of salicylide (or salicylic alcohol) in the presence of platinum or palladium catalysts by air. It can also be prepared using phenol as the starting material. The reaction formula is as follows:

3. Mix o-cresol with phosphorus oxychloride and react at a certain temperature to produce phosphate trio cresol ester. Then introduce chlorine gas until it is generated α - α - Until dichloride derivatives are obtained, and finally, high yield and high content salicylaldehyde products are obtained through hydrolysis and distillation. The main reactions are as follows:

Third, what is the usage of   2-Hydroxybenzaldehyde

A. Mainly used for producing coumarins, preparing violet spices, and also as a fungicide. Verification of hydrazine and photometric determination of scandium. Extraction and separation of nickel and cobalt. Precipitators for nickel, copper, iron, palladium, and vanadium. Solvents, spices, and organic synthesis intermediates.

B. Used as analytical reagents, spices, gasoline additives, and in organic synthesis

C. Salicylaldehyde has good bactericidal effect and is used as a fungicide in water treatment such as industrial circulating cooling water and oilfield reinjection water. Used as a preservative and fungicide in oil flavorings. When used at a concentration of 50mg/L, it can kill 60% of iron bacteria and 85% of sulfate reducing bacteria. The general dosage for water treatment is 50-100Mg/L. The concentration used should be within its water-soluble range and can be directly added.
